Our Member
Schools
Presently,
there are eleven Diploma Schools of
professional
nursing located throughout
the State, all of which are fully accredited by the New Jersey Board of Nursing
and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
Over
the course of two to three years of full-time study, our Diploma
schools provide a sound foundation in the biological, physical,
and behavioral sciences and the humanities. Upon successful completion
of the course of study, our graduates receive a Diploma in Nursing
and are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination
(NCLEX-RN).
Graduates
of our Member Schools do consistently well on the NCLEX-RN. Association
of Diploma Schools of Professional Nursing member schools report
a five-year average of 95.38% on the licensure examination.
Articulation
agreements have been established between all eleven ASDPN Member
Schools’ baccalaureate and masters degree nursing programs.
These agreements allow the transfer of both nursing and college
course credits to promote and facilitate career mobility. In addition,
six of our diploma schools have established cooperative programs
with community colleges. The tuition for the entire course of study
ranges less than $10,000 with numerous scholarships and financial
aid also available.
Our
member schools’ faculty believes that learning is enhanced
by the close student-teacher relationship, which nurtures individual
effort, independent learning, and intellectual curiosity. Such relationships
also provide opportunities for intellectual challenges, role clarification,
and the integration of theory with practice as a foundation for
the development of a beginning practitioner of professional nursing. |
